Although parenting is one of the most rewarding things we do, it can also be one of the most difficult undertakings of our lives. Parents face a variety of questions and challenges. From a young child who does not listen or refuses to sleep in their own bed to a defiant teenager, there are many reasons for parents to seek help with parenting techniques.

Parenting sessions are helpful for single parents as well as couples. Single parents can understand and develop their unique philosophy of parenting, while couples can reconcile differences in their respective approaches to parenting. Both single and couple parents gain insight into parenting challenges such as expectations, consequences, discipline, and family guidelines. Parenting sessions help parents learn to work together, rather than in opposition to each other, and thereby become more consistent and effective in their parenting.

Many therapists at Aspen Grove are parents with first-hand experience confronting the challenges of raising a family. We also draw upon recent parenting research that develops parenting methods proven effective in improving the behavior and children, as well as strengthening the parent-child bond. Through experience and research, we are able to offer parenting sessions that improve confidence and parenting abilities as well as decreasing family tension. Several parenting sessions can make a big difference in the lives of both the parents and the children in a family.

If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living.
